If you love photography and you love wildlife, then the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto has something special for you.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is currently on display and it is well worth seeing.

The show is divided up into categories which include: mammals, invertebrates, birds, plants, reptiles, amphibians and fish. These high resolution images were taken from all over the world and show the weird and the wonderful as well as some disturbing images of predators on the hunt.

Another part of the exhibition showcases the winners and finalists of the young photographers contest. Some of these photographs are truly inspiring, especially when you consider the age of the participants.

This is the fourth year ROM has displayed the Wildlife Photographer of the Year. The contest itself is in its 52nd year and now attracts nearly 50,000 entries from more than 90 countries.
The exhibition continues until March 19, 2017.
